Principal’s News

April 2024

Hello Cougar Families,

Breakfast Club, our 1st-8th grade math intervention program, has produced some incredible results in the first four weeks. After reassessment, we found almost all students in 1st-3rd grade to be at or above grade level standards in math. The data also revealed that 41 students in grades 4-8th mastered the key concept they were working on and have been bumped up to the next group. Students that moved up will be honored at our next All-School Rally.

As we make our final push to the end of the school year, please encourage your children to make every day count and to do their best. Attendance is key during these final months to ensure students obtain as much academic progress as possible. As we say in our rallies, “When you miss school, you miss out!”

Our girls’ volleyball teams have begun their season. Please look at the schedule and come out to cheer on our Cougars! Track and Field began on March 19th for 4th-8th grade students. If your child would like to participate in Track & Field it is not too late. Practices are held Tuesday and Thursday from 3-4pm. Stop into the office to fill out a Sports Waiver packet for your athlete.

PTC

The new Cougar Café  is open every Friday morning from 8-8:30am. Join us for a cup of coffee, hot chocolate and of course a donut. Without the support of our PTC, events like this would not be possible. If you are not currently active with our PTC, I want to encourage you to come to the next meeting and get involved.

Our next PTC meeting is on April 17th at 3:00 PM and you are all invited.

Home –School Communication

Good communication between the school and home is very important to us and we are working to provide numerous ways for this good communication to take place. Please call the school office in the morning when your child is sick and cannot attend school.

Happy April,

Duane Triplett
