The 2nd Annual Chocolate Celebration of Feb. 3rd was a terrific success! We had many commercial vendors that graciously donated to our event. The rest of our chocolate feast was donated by PTC parents and staff members. That night, we raised over $1300 for our Clear Creek School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund.Many of our 7/8th grade students were serving chocolate, collecting tickets,collecting money, and helping to clean up, earning community service hours.Once again, THANK YOU to the many staff members and PTC members who supplied us with chocolate for our event. Without you, we would have NO event. It takes many busy hands to make this event a reality! You are invaluable! The following merchants donated to our event: Foothill Mercantile; The Truffle Shop; Grass Valley Florist; Caroline’s Coffee; The Candy Lady; Nevada City Laundry; The Chocolate Shoppe; Nevada City Winery; SPD; Save Mart; Creative Cakes by Valentine. If you patronize these vendors, please extend an additional thank you to them. |

Ashley Davies and Elena Wallace became the first two recipients of the Clear Creek School Alumni Scholarship in June, 2011. Ashley attended Clear Creek from kindergarten through eighth grade and will use her $750.00 award when she attends UC Davis, home of the Aggies, in September. A member of the NU Theatrical Dance program for her four years of high school and active member of many high school service clubs, she also distinguished herself as a graduating Valedictorian. Elena attended Clear Creek from the fourth grade through the eighth grade and will use her $750.00 award when she becomes a member of the Bulldogs at California State University, Fresno in the fall. In addition to her many club activities and student government positions in high school, Elena spearheaded the fundraising for this scholarship by implementing what is hoped to be an annual event--- The Clear Creek Chocolate Celebration. Her efforts raised more than $1000.00 toward this scholarship fund. Congratulations, girls! Your Clear Creek School family is very proud of you! |

The Clear Creek Scholarship Committee is excited to introduce… The Clear Creek Alumni Scholarship Now available to graduating seniors at Nevada Union, Bear River and Ghidotti Criteria for the scholarship are as follows: The Applicants may attend any accredited vocational school, 2 or 4 year college or university of their choice, pursuing the major of their choice. The applicant must have graduated from and attended Clear Creek for a minimum of four years. They also must have a minimum of 3.0 GPA and have been involved in community service or extracurricular activities throughout high school.
