Hi, I’m Micki Baldwin.  My husband Randy and I have lived in the neighborhood for 30 years.  We have 3 sons 32, 30 & 27 and 1 ½ year old triplet grandchildren.  All of our boys went here to Clear Creek and then on to Nevada Union HS.  I was Clear Creek’s 4H Community leader& sheep leader for all the years my boys were in 4H.  I cooked at 4H camp for 4 years and was lifeguard for 2 of those years.  I got to retire when my youngest son went into FFA in high school.  I also was a Cub Scout leader until the boys went into Boy Scouts and then my husband took over and was Boy Scout leader for many years.

Now that my boys are graduated with lives of their own, I get to return to my passion in life, fiber arts.  I have sewn for a very long time and still enjoy making clothes for myself and grandchildren.  I learned to weave at 12 and spin at 16 and I am still active in my spinning guild.  I took up knitting seriously about 12 years ago and always have a sweater or pair of socks on the needles.  Quilting has taken my fancy lately—it seems to gather together the sewing, weaving and colorwork I have always loved.  Now I just need to find more time in the day!

I started to work at Clear Creek School in the lower building (not there anymore) with Renee Gettys in our community preschool starting in 1980.  I was hired in the fall of 1985 to work with special education students in the elementary school.  Through the years I have worked with special education, kindergarten, 1st through 8th grade in all subject areas.  I have accompanied students on the science field trip to Marin Headlands, to math, spelling and writing tournaments, and on fun field trips throughout Nevada County and down to Sacramento’s Capitol/Sutter’s Fort.  This year I work with special education, 7-8th grade language arts, algebra/geometry, first grade music/story, Read Naturally kids and I even get to see some of the kindergarteners in Camp Cougar.    I love working here with our Clear Creek kids and enjoy learning something new each day.  I have a great job.
