Mrs. Barrieau :

Mrs. Barrieau

Hello Clear Creek families. This is my 4th year teaching “in the middle” at Clear Creek.   Prior to Clear Creek I was employed with the county as a substitute teacher. Before that, I was a middle school teacher in the Roseville area, where my husband still teaches after 21 years! I attended Chico State where I earned my degree in English, and then went to Chapman University to get my teaching credential. I have lived in Nevada County for 16 years, and love seeing former students around town, especially as they progress towards adulthood. With any free time, I read, hike, enjoy the local rivers and lakes, and spend copious time with my family.

Mrs. Cariaga :

Hello, I am Jennifer Cariaga (Car-ee-ah-ga!). Feel free to call me Mrs. C. I am thrilled to be a part of the Clear Creek family for my 4th year. This will be my first year in 5th grade and I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and getting to know some new ones! I moved to Nevada County when I was entering the 5th grade, which makes this grade level even more memorable for me. I have lived in Nevada County for over 25 years, so we may have crossed paths at some point! I am fortunate to have the opportunity to live and work in such a beautiful place.

Outside of school, I love to spend time with my husband and our energetic three boys. I am happiest near the water and take any opportunity I can to be at the Yuba or one of the many beautiful nearby mountain lakes. I love to travel and see the world and enjoy exchanging travel experiences with my students.

Mrs. Gilliland :

Hi, my name is Kim Gilliland and I have been blessed to be on Clear Creek’s campus since 1997 when our first child started kindergarten.  Over the years our family became more and more involved at Clear Creek because we were drawn in by the small, rural setting, family atmosphere, and caring staff.  My husband and I served on various boards, planning and executing school events.  Over time, all four of our children, benefiting from their Clear Creek years, have grown and moved into their adult lives but I was privileged to be hired as a part time substitute for aides when our youngest child was in first grade.  In 2012 I was offered a more permanent aide position on campus and later added working as a custodian after school.  The school environment is lively, energizing, interesting, and fun.  A day does not go by that I don’t see students’ exhibiting their unique awesomeness.  I consider it a privilege to be able to spend my days with families, staff, and students at Clear Creek.

Hi!  I’m Andrea Hansen and I am blessed to be able to spend my work days with the youngest (and energetic!) students on campus. This is my seventh year teaching TK/K at Clear Creek.  I’m a Nevada County native, and I graduated from Chico State with a major in Liberal Studies and minors in Child Development and East Asian Studies.  Prior to working at Clear Creek, I taught TK/K at CORE Charter School and started my career in education in first grade at Pleasant Ridge Union School District back in 2004. I am also a teacher mentor for the North Coast Teacher Induction Program.

Aside from school, I am married and have two children who also attend Clear Creek School.  I love watching my kiddos show livestock, listening to audiobooks, going to Sunsplash and all things from Costco!

Mrs. Kauffman :

Mrs. Kauffman

My name is Lisa Kauffman and I have been teaching across the grades at Clear Creek for thirteen years.  This year I am excited to guide our sixth graders through ratios, percentages, and ancient cultures (to name just a few).  I love textbooks and messy projects alike. I strive to create a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment full of inspired and confident learners.  I was born and raised in Grass Valley, and I graduated from Dominican University of San Rafael.  I have a Bachelor’s in Liberal Studies and a Master’s of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis.  In addition to being a teacher, I am also the proud parent of a Clear Creek student! I cherish our small school vibe and sense of community.  In my personal time I love working in my yard, exploring back roads with my husband and friends, and the beautiful Yuba River.

Mrs. Lemmons :

Mrs. Lemmons

My name is Susan Lemmons. I attended Chico State and received my B.S. in Liberal Studies with a Music minor. My family and I moved from Chico to Grass Valley in 2010. I have worked at Clear Creek School since 2013 teaching grades 3, 4, 6 and 8. I am currently teaching 4th grade. I also lead Student Council for our student body. Everyone always asks me what my favorite grade is to teach and my answer is always the same: whatever grade I am currently teaching! I enjoy spending time with my family and going to my favorite place in the world as often as I can-Lake Tahoe!

Mrs. Lubarsky :

Mrs. Lubarsky

My name is Jen Lubarsky and I am the first grade teacher at Clear Creek School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree at UC Davis where I majored in History and minored in French. During my time at Davis I was able to travel abroad and live in France for 6 months, which was a wonderful experience! After my stint as an Aggie I went on to earn my teaching credential from CSU Sacramento. I have had the wonderful opportunity to teach at several different schools within Nevada County, mostly in first grade classrooms. I fell very fortunate to have landed at Clear Creek School because of the warm and welcoming staff, the great families, and the super students!

I feel so fortunate to have found the occupation that I truly enjoy and am passionate about. I love being in the classroom, interacting with the students and watching them learn and grow every day. There is nothing better than to witness a child shine with pride and joy when they have accomplished a major milestone! I feel so lucky to be a major part of the learning process that takes place within our first grade classroom.

When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband and our daughter. I love going for hikes, working in our vegetable and flower garden, and enjoying a good book.
